Abolition of the four hour waiting standard
The revised NHS Operating Framework states that the 4-hour wait standard will be reduced to 95% . A deed of variation has been issues amending contracts to this new standard. However PCTs may retain the 98% standard as a local agreement if both parties agree.
Quality Indicators for Emergency Care in England

CRASH-2: tranexamic acid and trauma patients
Results have been published in the Lancet of a clinical trial assessing the effects of early administration of a short course of tranexamic acid on death, vascular occlusive events, and the receipt of blood transfusion in trauma patients with or at risk of significant haemorrhage.
