Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS) Guidance
A new clinical guideline on acute coronary syndromes has been published by SIGN: Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network and provides evidence based recommendations on the in-hospital management of patients with an acute coronary syndrome (ACS). How many nurses are enough?
In an article in the current issue of Accident and Emergency Nursing (Jan 07), Heather McClelland, RGN in Emergency Care at Leeds General Infirmary is seeking examples of good practice from Emergency Departments elsewhere in the country of the effective management of staff : patient and qualified : support staff ratios. The article highlights the particular complexity of managing staff / skills ratios within an emergency setting, against managing those in a general ward environment, and provides Heather's e-mail address for staff interested in developing good practice in this area to contact her.
